उपायुक्त तोरुल एस रवीश ने जनता से अपील की है कि वे इस प्रकार की पुरानी और असत्य घटनाओं को वर्तमान से जोड़कर भ्रम न फैलाएं और केवल प्रामाणिक स्रोतों—जैसे मौसम विभाग या प्रशासन की आधिकारिक सूचनाओं—पर ही विश्वास करें।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वर्तमान में गड़सा क्षेत्र में न तो अत्यधिक वर्षा हुई है और न ही कोई आपदा दर्ज की गई है। प्रशासन ने नागरिकों से सावधानी बरतने और नदी-नालों, भूस्खलन संभावित क्षेत्रों से दूर रहने की अपील की है।
सोशल मीडिया पर फर्जी खबरें साझा करने वालों पर कड़ी नजर रखी जा रही है और लोगों से अनुरोध किया गया है कि वे किसी भी वीडियो या पोस्ट को साझा करने से पहले उसकी सत्यता की जांच जरूर करें।
