जिला कांगड़ा पुलिस ने नशे के खिलाफ चलाए जा रहे अभियान में एक और बड़ी कामयाबी हासिल की है। शनिवार को पुलिस की विशेष टीम ने पुराना बनेर खड्ड पुल (पुराना कांगड़ा) के पास गश्त के दौरान 19.17 ग्राम चिट्टा (हेरोइन) बरामद कर दो युवकों को गिरफ्तार किया।
एसपी कांगड़ा अशोक रत्न ने बताया कि आरोपियों की पहचान नितिन राणा पुत्र चैन सिंह राणा निवासी द्रमनाला, जिला चंबा, उम्र 26 वर्ष और साहिल कुमार पुत्र नरेश कुमार निवासी अनसोली, जिला कांगड़ा, उम्र 26 वर्ष के रूप में हुई है। पुलिस के अनुसार दोनों आरोपी लंबे समय से नशे के अवैध कारोबार में सक्रिय थे और इस खेप को बेचने की फिराक में थे।
गश्त के दौरान संदिग्ध अवस्था में खड़ी कार (HP-39B-5233) की तलाशी ली गई तो इसमें से चिट्टा बरामद हुआ। इस पर थाना कांगड़ा में अभियोग संख्या 154/25 दिनांक 07.09.2025 के तहत धारा 21, 25 और 29 एनडीपीएस एक्ट में मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया है।
एसपी ने कहा कि जिला पुलिस नशे के खिलाफ जीरो टॉलरेंस नीति पर काम कर रही है। नशे के कारोबार में शामिल किसी को भी बख्शा नहीं जाएगा। उन्होंने जनता से अपील की कि नशा तस्करों की जानकारी तुरंत पुलिस तक पहुंचाएं, सूचना देने वाले का नाम पूरी तरह गोपनीय रखा जाएगा।

Kangra Police achieved another success in their ongoing anti-drug campaign by seizing 19.17 grams of heroin (chitta) and arresting two youths. The special police team was on patrol near the old Baner Khad bridge (Old Kangra) when they noticed a suspicious car parked nearby.
On searching the vehicle (HP-39B-5233), the police recovered heroin. The arrested accused were identified as Nitin Rana (26), son of Chain Singh Rana, resident of Dramanala, Chamba, and Sahil Kumar (26), son of Naresh Kumar, resident of Ansoli, Kangra. Both were reportedly involved in illegal drug activities for a long time and were planning to sell the consignment when caught.
A case has been registered at Kangra Police Station under FIR No. 154/25 dated 07.09.2025, under Sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act.
SP Ashok Ratna stated that the police will continue their strict action against drugs and no one involved in the trade will be spared. He urged the public to share any information about drug activities with the police, assuring complete confidentiality of the informants.
