तहसील जुन्गा के जोट गांव में रविवार देर रात भारी भूस्खलन से एक रिहायशी मकान और गौशाला दबने से दो जिंदगियां खत्म हो गईं। हादसा उस समय हुआ जब मकान में सो रहे परिवार पर पहाड़ी से हजारों टन मलबा आ गिरा। इस मलबे की चपेट में आकर मकान पूरी तरह क्षतिग्रस्त हो गया। इसमें सो रहे वीरेंद्र (42) और उनकी 6 वर्षीय बेटी दिव्यांशी की मौके पर ही दर्दनाक मौत हो गई। हादसे के समय वीरेंद्र की पत्नी निर्मला बाहर शौचालय गई थीं, जिससे उनकी जान बच गई।
गौशाला दबने से एक जरसी गाय की भी मौत हो गई। हादसे की सूचना मिलते ही SDRF, पुलिस, होमगार्ड और मेडिकल टीम ने कठिन रास्तों से पैदल यात्रा कर मौके पर पहुंचकर राहत व बचाव कार्य शुरू किया। ग्रामीणों की मदद से शवों को क्षत-विक्षत हालत में बाहर निकाला गया। मौके पर पहुंचकर SDM ग्रामीण मंजीत शर्मा ने पीड़िता को एक लाख रुपये की फौरी राहत प्रदान की और आश्वासन दिया कि परिवार को मुआवजा राशि और मकान बनाने की सहायता दी जाएगी। इस दर्दनाक हादसे से पूरे क्षेत्र में शोक की लहर है।

A tragic landslide struck Jot village under Junga Tehsil on Sunday night, destroying a residential house and a cowshed, leading to the death of two family members. According to officials, tons of debris fell from the hillside, completely damaging the house. Virender (42) and his 6-year-old daughter Divyanshi, who were asleep inside, lost their lives instantly. Fortunately, Virender’s wife Nirmala, who had stepped outside, survived the incident but was left devastated, losing both her family and home.
Alongside the house, the cowshed was also destroyed, killing a Jersey cow. On receiving the information, SDRF, police, home guards, and a medical team rushed to the site despite road blockages, trekking nearly 15 kilometers on foot. With the help of locals, the bodies were recovered in a severely damaged state. SDM Rural, Manjeet Sharma, reached the spot and provided immediate relief of ₹1 lakh to Nirmala, assuring further compensation and assistance for house construction. The heartbreaking tragedy has cast a shadow of grief over the entire valley.
