मंडी जिला में नशा तस्करी और अवैध खेती पर लगाम कसने के लिए उपायुक्त अपूर्व देवगन की अध्यक्षता में जिला स्तरीय एनकोर्ड समिति की बैठक आयोजित हुई। बैठक में हालिया बरामदगी, विभागीय सहयोग और पंचायत स्तर पर उगने वाली प्राकृतिक भांग के उन्मूलन पर विशेष बल दिया गया।
उपायुक्त ने कहा कि अफीम और भांग की अवैध खेती की जानकारी हर अधिकारी और पंचायत प्रतिनिधि को अनिवार्य रूप से पुलिस को देनी होगी। जानकारी छिपाने पर एनडीपीएस एक्ट की धारा 32 और 47 के तहत एफआईआर दर्ज कर कानूनी कार्रवाई होगी। उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि सितम्बर के दूसरे पखवाड़े में पंचायत स्तर पर विशेष अभियान चलाकर सरकारी परिसरों और भूमि से भांग को नष्ट किया जाए।
बैठक में पुलिस उपाधीक्षक सागर चंद्र ने जानकारी दी कि इस वर्ष अब तक 900 ग्राम अफीम, 736 ग्राम हेरोइन, 44 किलो चरस और 1.61 लाख भांग के पौधे जब्त किए गए हैं। 217 मामले दर्ज कर 337 आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। बैठक में यह भी तय हुआ कि सभी विभाग नशा उन्मूलन के लिए पुलिस को हरसंभव सहयोग देंगे और नोडल अधिकारियों का एक व्हाट्सएप समूह भी बनाया जाएगा।

A district-level ENCORD committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan in Mandi to curb drug trafficking and eradicate cannabis. The DC stressed that it is the legal responsibility of every officer and panchayat representative to immediately report illegal opium or cannabis cultivation to the police. Hiding such information will invite FIRs under sections 32 and 47 of the NDPS Act.
He directed that a special campaign be launched in the second fortnight of September to destroy naturally grown cannabis from government land and premises. DSP Sagar Chandra informed that 900 gm opium, 736 gm heroin, 44 kg charas, 1.61 lakh cannabis plants, and other narcotics have been seized this year, with 217 cases registered and 337 arrests made. The meeting also decided that all departments will cooperate with police, and nodal officers will be connected through a WhatsApp group for better coordination.
