केंद्रीय ग्रामीण विकास राज्य मंत्री श्री कमलेश पासवान ने लोकसभा में जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि 220 किलोमीटर लंबे शिमला-कांगड़ा राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग को चरणबद्ध रूप में चार लेन, दो लेन और पेव्ड शोल्डर के रूप में विकसित किया जा रहा है।
उन्होंने यह जानकारी कांगड़ा लोकसभा सांसद डॉक्टर राजीव भारद्वाज के प्रश्न के उत्तर में दी। मंत्री ने बताया कि शिमला से शालघाट तक 31.5 किलोमीटर हिस्से की डीपीआर तैयार कर ली गई है और जल्द ही उसका सुधार कार्य प्रारंभ किया जाएगा।
शालघाट से दरोता के बीच 22.5 किलोमीटर फोरलेन की डीपीआर अवार्ड की जा चुकी है, जबकि दरोता से कालरबाला के 859.03 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से निर्माण कार्य को मंजूरी मिल चुकी है।
कालरबाला से नौनी चौक के 25.4 किलोमीटर मार्ग का निर्माण 1244.43 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से प्रगति पर है और इसे 12 मई 2027 तक पूर्ण किया जाएगा।
उन्होंने बताया कि नौनी चौक से भगेर तक 15.6 किलोमीटर मार्ग का निर्माण कार्य पूरा हो चुका है, जबकि भगेर से हमीरपुर तक 42 किलोमीटर मार्ग की डीपीआर अवार्ड हो चुकी है।
हमीरपुर बाईपास को 739.39 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से दो लेन में निर्मित किया जा रहा है, जो अक्टूबर 2025 तक पूरा होगा।
हमीरपुर से भंगबर तक 39.75 किलोमीटर मार्ग 1184.23 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बन रहा है और इसका कार्य 15 दिसंबर 2025 तक पूर्ण होगा।
मंत्री ने कहा कि भंगबर से कांगड़ा बाईपास तक 22.95 किलोमीटर चार लेन मार्ग का निर्माण 1322.95 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से पूरा कर लिया गया है।

Union Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Kamlesh Paswan informed the Parliament that the 220-km long Shimla-Kangra National Highway will be upgraded into four-lane, two-lane, and paved shoulder segments in a phased manner.
Responding to a question from Kangra MP Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, the minister detailed that the 31.5 km stretch from Shimla to Shalaghat will be upgraded based on a finalized DPR.
The 22.5 km Shalaghat-Darota segment’s DPR has been awarded, and the Darota-Kalrabala section worth ₹859.03 crore has received construction approval.
The 25.4 km Kalrabala to Nauni Chowk segment is under construction at a cost of ₹1244.43 crore, expected to complete by May 12, 2027.
The 15.6 km Nauni Chowk to Bhager stretch is complete. The 42 km Bhager-Hamirpur four-lane section’s DPR has been awarded.
The Hamirpur bypass (two-lane) is being built at a cost of ₹739.39 crore, to be completed by October 2025.
The 39.75 km Hamirpur to Bhangbar section is under construction at ₹1184.23 crore and will be completed by December 15, 2025.
The 22.95 km Bhangbar to Kangra bypass four-lane road has already been completed at a cost of ₹1322.95 crore.
