देवभूमि मिरर, धर्मशाला, 7 सितंबर 2025 – उपमुख्य सचेतक केवल सिंह पठानिया ने कहा कि शाहपुर में शहीदों की यादों को जीवित रखने के लिए भव्य युद्ध स्मारक का निर्माण किया जाएगा। भूमि चिह्न्ति कर ली गई है और जल्द ही कार्य शुरू होगा।
पठानिया रविवार को शाहपुर ब्लॉक पूर्व सैनिक सैल द्वारा आयोजित सम्मान समारोह में बतौर मुख्यातिथि शामिल हुए। उन्होंने कहा कि हिमाचल को वीरभूमि का गौरव इसके वीर सपूतों की अद्भुत बलिदानी परंपरा से मिला है। स्वतंत्रता प्राप्ति से लेकर कारगिल युद्ध तक हिमाचल के 1728 वीरों ने देश के लिए अपने प्राण न्यौछावर किए हैं। केवल कांगड़ा जिले से 15 वीर कारगिल युद्ध में शहीद हुए।
उन्होंने बताया कि हिमाचल के 4 सैनिकों को परमवीर चक्र, 2 को अशोक चक्र, 10 को महावीर चक्र और 25 को कीर्ति चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया है। वर्तमान सरकार ने शहीदों के परिवारों, वीर नारियों और पूर्व सैनिकों के कल्याण के लिए अनुदान राशि और आर्थिक सहायता में बढ़ोतरी की है।
इस अवसर पर विशिष्ट सेवा मैडल विजेता कर्नल जय सिंह, वीर नारियां पिंकी देवी, सावित्री देवी, सोमा देवी, शहीद पवन कुमार की धर्मपत्नी सुषमा देवी और अन्य को सम्मानित किया गया। कार्यक्रम में पूर्व सैनिकों ने अपने सैन्य अनुभव साझा किए और देशभक्ति की प्रस्तुतियों से माहौल भावुक बना। चंगर पूर्व सैनिक सैल ने आपदा राहत कोष के लिए 50 हजार रुपये की राशि भी भेंट की।
Dharamshala, Sept 7, 2025 – Deputy Chief Whip Keval Singh Pathania announced that a grand war memorial will be constructed in Shahpur to honor the martyrs. The land has already been identified.
Speaking at an ex-servicemen felicitation program organized by Shahpur Block Ex-Servicemen Cell, Pathania highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s immense contribution in safeguarding the nation. Since independence, 1,728 soldiers from the state have sacrificed their lives, including 52 during the Kargil War, 15 of whom belonged to Kangra district.
He recalled that Himachal soldiers have been decorated with 4 Param Vir Chakras, 2 Ashok Chakras, 10 Maha Vir Chakras, and 25 Kirti Chakras. The state government under CM Sukhu has increased ex-gratia amounts and old-age support for war widows and ex-servicemen, ensuring better welfare.
The event also witnessed the honoring of gallantry awardees and Veer Naris. Patriotic songs and military experiences shared by veterans filled the atmosphere with emotion. The Changer Ex-Servicemen Cell donated ₹50,000 to the disaster relief fund.
