चाइल्ड हेल्पलाइन कांगड़ा ने राजकीय वरिष्ठ माध्यमिक पाठशाला बनूरी में पोक्सो अधिनियम, साइबर सुरक्षा और सोशल मीडिया के लाभ-हानि पर एक जागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता स्कूल के प्रधानाचार्य सुरेंद्र ठाकुर ने की। इस अवसर पर अध्यापकगण, अनुशासन समिति, एंटी-सेक्सुअल हरासमेंट समिति और स्कूल प्रबंधन समिति के सदस्य भी उपस्थित रहे।
कार्यक्रम में विद्यार्थियों को विशेष रूप से साइबर सुरक्षा को लेकर सतर्क रहने की सलाह दी गई। बच्चों को बताया गया कि ऑनलाइन गेम्स और सोशल मीडिया पर अजनबियों से बातचीत से बचना चाहिए, क्योंकि कई बार साइबर अपराधी खुद को बच्चा बताकर धोखाधड़ी करते हैं। इसे कैट फिशिंग कहा जाता है। ऐसे अपराधी पासवर्ड, भुगतान विवरण या निजी जानकारी हासिल कर बच्चों को परेशानी में डाल सकते हैं।
बच्चों को मजबूत पासवर्ड बनाने, एंटीवायरस सॉफ्टवेयर उपयोग करने और अनुचित सामग्री की रिपोर्ट करने के तरीके समझाए गए। साथ ही उन्हें बताया गया कि यदि किसी सोशल मीडिया ऐप पर अश्लील सामग्री भेजी जाती है, तो इसकी तुरंत शिकायत चाइल्ड हेल्पलाइन नंबर 1098 पर करनी चाहिए।
काउंसलर बलदेव ने नशा निवारण और काउंसलिंग से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारियां साझा कीं। इस जागरूकता कार्यक्रम में लगभग 250 विद्यार्थियों ने भाग लिया और लाभ उठाया।

Child Helpline Kangra organized an awareness program at Government Senior Secondary School, Banuri, focusing on the POCSO Act, cyber security, and the pros and cons of social media. The event was chaired by Principal Surendra Thakur, and was attended by teachers, the discipline committee, the anti-sexual harassment committee, and school management members.
During the session, students were cautioned about the dangers of interacting with strangers on the internet, especially on online games and social media. Experts explained the concept of catfishing, where predators pretend to be children to trap students into sharing personal details. Such acts may involve hackers and cyber criminals attempting to extract passwords, financial details, or private information.
Students were educated on creating strong passwords, using reliable antivirus software, and reporting inappropriate content. They were advised to avoid clicking unknown links and to immediately report any obscene content shared online to Child Helpline number 1098.
Counselor Baldev also provided valuable guidance on drug de-addiction and counseling support. Around 250 students participated in the event and benefitted from the program.
