हिमाचल प्रदेश वन विभाग ने इस वर्ष 1820 हेक्टेयर भूमि पर हरियाली लाने का संकल्प लिया है। इसमें से 1000 हेक्टेयर भूमि पर विभाग खुद पौधरोपण करेगा, जबकि 600 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र ‘राजीव गांधी वन संवर्द्धन योजना’ के अंतर्गत हरा-भरा किया जाएगा। साथ ही जाइका वानिकी परियोजना द्वारा 220 हेक्टेयर भूमि पर पौधे रोपने का लक्ष्य निर्धारित किया गया है।
वन बल प्रमुख समीर रस्तोगी ने बताया कि जल्द ही राज्य स्तरीय वन महोत्सव के माध्यम से पौधरोपण अभियान की शुरुआत की जाएगी। यह अभियान न केवल पर्यावरण संतुलन के लिए अहम है, बल्कि स्थानीय रोजगार और सामुदायिक भागीदारी को भी प्रोत्साहित करता है।
मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू द्वारा शुरू की गई राजीव गांधी योजना के अंतर्गत बंजर जमीन पर फलदार पौधे लगाए जाएंगे, जिससे आर्थिक और पारिस्थितिक लाभ दोनों मिलेंगे। महिला मंडलों, युवक मंडलों और स्वयं सहायता समूहों को इस योजना में सक्रिय भागीदार बनाया जाएगा। वे पौधरोपण के साथ पांच वर्षों तक उनकी देखभाल भी करेंगे, जिससे पौधों की दीर्घकालिक सफलता सुनिश्चित होगी।

The Forest Department of Himachal Pradesh has set an ambitious goal to green 1820 hectares of barren land this year. Out of this, 1000 hectares will be afforested directly by the department, 600 hectares will be covered under the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana, and 220 hectares by the JICA Forestry Project.
Chief Conservator of Forests Sameer Rastogi stated that the campaign will soon commence through a state-level Van Mahotsav. This green initiative is aimed at reviving degraded lands, enhancing community livelihoods, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Under the Rajiv Gandhi initiative, fruit-bearing trees will be planted, offering dual benefits—ecological restoration and economic support through fruit production. Women groups, youth clubs, and self-help groups will actively participate in the plantation and commit to nurturing the saplings for five years, ensuring long-term impact and grassroots engagement.
This is a significant step towards green development and community-based environmental stewardship in the hill state.
