शिमला। भारत रत्न और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी की पुण्यतिथि पर शनिवार को शिमला के ऐतिहासिक रिज मैदान पर श्रद्धांजलि कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर हिमाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने पुष्पांजलि अर्पित कर उन्हें नमन किया।
राज्यपाल ने अटल जी को याद करते हुए कहा कि वह एक दूरदर्शी राजनेता थे, जिन्होंने हमेशा सर्वोच्च नैतिक मूल्यों को प्राथमिकता दी। उन्होंने कहा कि अटल जी हिमाचल को अपना दूसरा घर मानते थे और यहां की जनता से उनका विशेष लगाव था। राज्यपाल ने कहा कि सत्ता के लिए उन्होंने कभी भ्रष्टाचार का सहारा नहीं लिया। उनका सत्य, निष्ठा और मूल्य आधारित जीवन हम सबके लिए प्रेरणास्रोत है।
इस अवसर पर उप-मुख्यमंत्री मुकेश अग्निहोत्री, शिमला नगर निगम के महापौर सुरेंद्र चौहान, उप-महापौर उमा कौशल, पूर्व सांसद प्रतिभा सिंह, पूर्व मंत्री सुरेश भारद्वाज, उपायुक्त अनुपम कश्यप समेत कई जनप्रतिनिधि और अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम में कलाकारों ने देशभक्ति गीत और भजनों की प्रस्तुतियों से माहौल को भावुक बना दिया।
Shimla – A solemn tribute was paid to Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla. Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla offered floral tributes to the late leader and remembered him as a visionary statesman who always upheld the highest moral values in politics.
The Governor recalled that Vajpayee ji considered Himachal Pradesh as his second home and had a deep bond with its people. He added that Vajpayee ji never resorted to corruption for power or to save his government, and his life of truth, integrity, and value-based politics remains an inspiration for all.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Shimla Mayor Surender Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, former MP Pratibha Singh, former minister Suresh Bhardwaj, DC Anupam Kashyap, along with other dignitaries and officials, were also present. Artists marked the occasion with soulful patriotic songs and devotional hymns.
