हमीरपुर जिले में पिछले तीन दिनों से लगातार जारी भारी बारिश ने व्यापक तबाही मचाई है। उपायुक्त एवं जिला आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (डीडीएमए) के अध्यक्ष अमरजीत सिंह ने जानकारी दी कि केवल दो दिनों में ही सरकारी व निजी संपत्तियों को करीब 20 करोड़ रुपये का नुक्सान हुआ है। अब तक इस मॉनसून सीजन में जिले का कुल नुक्सान 164.72 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक दर्ज किया गया है।
रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, जल शक्ति विभाग को सबसे ज्यादा 85.03 करोड़ रुपये का नुक्सान हुआ है, जबकि लोक निर्माण विभाग को 72.75 करोड़ रुपये की क्षति पहुंची है। बिजली बोर्ड को 1.39 करोड़, शिक्षा विभाग को 1.60 करोड़, कृषि और बागवानी विभागों को भी लाखों रुपये का नुक्सान हुआ है। मकानों, डंगों और गौशालाओं के ध्वस्त होने से भी भारी हानि हुई है।
डीसी अमरजीत सिंह ने चेतावनी दी कि नदी-नालों और भूस्खलन संभावित क्षेत्रों से लोग दूर रहें। विशेष रूप से ब्यास नदी के किनारे बसे क्षेत्रों के लोग सतर्क रहें। आपात स्थिति में जिला आपदा नियंत्रण कक्ष के टोल-फ्री नंबर 1077 पर संपर्क करने की अपील की गई है।

Continuous heavy rainfall over the last three days has caused widespread damage in Hamirpur district. Deputy Commissioner and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Chairman Amarjeet Singh informed that within just two days, government and private properties worth around ₹20 crore have been damaged. So far, the total loss in this monsoon season has crossed ₹164.72 crore.
According to official reports, the Jal Shakti Department has suffered the maximum damage of ₹85.03 crore, followed by the Public Works Department with ₹72.75 crore. The electricity board reported losses worth ₹1.39 crore, while the education department incurred damages worth ₹1.60 crore. Agriculture and horticulture sectors have also reported significant crop losses. Additionally, dozens of houses, cowsheds, retaining walls, and other structures have been destroyed or partially damaged.
DC Amarjeet Singh urged people to stay away from rivers, nullahs, and landslide-prone areas. He also cautioned residents near the Beas river, especially in Sujanpur and Nadaun subdivisions, as the water level is rising due to heavy rainfall. In case of emergency, people can contact the District Disaster Control Room on toll-free number 1077.
