हाल ही में लाहौल और स्पीति में आई भीषण बाढ़ ने जनजीवन को अस्त-व्यस्त कर दिया है। सड़कों के पूरी तरह अवरुद्ध होने से आपातकालीन सेवाओं पर गंभीर असर पड़ा। ऐसे कठिन हालात में उपायुक्त लाहौल-स्पीति किरण भड़ाना ने मानवीय संवेदनशीलता और प्रशासनिक कुशलता का परिचय देते हुए चार गंभीर रूप से बीमार मरीजों और एक अटेंडेंट को स्टिंगरी हेलीपैड, केलांग से एयरलिफ्ट करवा कर उनकी जान बचाई।
एयरलिफ्ट किए गए मरीजों में एक सड़क दुर्घटना में घायल पुरण सिंह, किडनी फेल्योर से पीड़ित आयुष, गंभीर बुखार से जूझ रहे नौ वर्षीय रेयांश और गर्भवती अलका शामिल रहीं। मरीजों के परिजनों ने जिला प्रशासन और उपायुक्त के इस त्वरित प्रयास की हृदय से सराहना की।
बाढ़ प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में टेलिंग नाला और पागल नाला जैसे स्थानों पर भारी नुकसान हुआ है। प्रशासन ने सिस्सू विश्राम गृह में ‘वार रूम’ स्थापित कर राहत और बचाव कार्यों की निगरानी तेज कर दी है। बिजली और टेली-कॉम सेवाएं बहाल की जा चुकी हैं, और बीआरओ व पीडब्ल्यूडी की टीमें प्राथमिकता के आधार पर सड़कें खोलने में जुटी हुई हैं।
उपायुक्त किरण भड़ाना के सक्रिय नेतृत्व ने संकट की घड़ी में जन-जीवन बचाने और राहत कार्यों को गति देने में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया है।

The devastating floods in Lahaul and Spiti recently disrupted road connectivity and emergency services. In this critical situation, Deputy Commissioner Kiran Bhadana showcased exemplary leadership and compassion by ensuring the airlift of four critically ill patients along with an attendant from Stingri Helipad, Keylong, thus saving their lives.
Among the patients were Puran Singh, seriously injured in a road accident; Ayush, suffering from chronic renal failure; Reyansh, a 9-year-old battling high fever; and Alka, a pregnant woman in urgent need of specialist care. Families of the patients expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the DC and the administration for this life-saving effort.
Floods have caused extensive damage in Teling Nallah, Pagal Nallah, and nearby areas. To manage the crisis, the administration has set up a ‘war room’ at Sissu Rest House to coordinate rescue and relief. Electricity and telecom services have been restored, while BRO and PWD teams are working relentlessly to reopen blocked roads.
DC Kiran Bhadana’s timely intervention has proven vital in saving lives and accelerating relief operations in the disaster-hit district.
