हिमाचल प्रदेश की कांग्रेस सरकार एक बार फिर विपक्ष के निशाने पर है। भाजपा प्रदेश महामंत्री त्रिलोक कपूर ने राज्य की धरोहर होटलों को बेचने के सरकार के निर्णय को लेकर तीखा हमला बोला है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि सरकार आर्थिक संकट का बहाना बनाकर एचपीटीडीसी (हिमाचल प्रदेश पर्यटन विकास निगम) के 14 होटलों को निजी हाथों में सौंपने की तैयारी कर रही है।
त्रिलोक कपूर ने सवाल उठाया कि जब निगम का वार्षिक राजस्व 100 करोड़ रुपए से अधिक है, तो फिर घाटे का तर्क किस आधार पर दिया जा रहा है? उन्होंने कहा कि इससे पहले भी सरकार ने हाईकोर्ट से इन होटलों को बचाने का समय मांगा था, लेकिन अब पुनः इन्हें बेचने की साजिश रची जा रही है।
कपूर ने चेताया कि इन होटलों का ऐतिहासिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व है, और इन्हें बेचना हिमाचल के पर्यटन उद्योग के लिए घातक होगा। उन्होंने सरकार पर जनता और न्यायपालिका को गुमराह करने का आरोप लगाया और मुख्यमंत्री से इस्तीफे की मांग की।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि यदि यह फैसला लागू हुआ, तो सैकड़ों कर्मचारियों का भविष्य खतरे में पड़ जाएगा। भाजपा नेता ने एचपीटीडीसी चेयरमैन आरएस बाली के उस बयान का भी उल्लेख किया जिसमें उन्होंने कहा कि यदि सरकार स्वयं संचालन करे तो 200 करोड़ रुपये तक की आमदनी संभव है।
कपूर ने कहा कि “ऑपरेशन एंड मेंटेनेंस” के नाम पर सरकार केवल अपनी विफलताओं को छिपा रही है। उन्होंने मांग की कि इन धरोहर होटलों को बेचे जाने की प्रक्रिया पर तत्काल रोक लगाई जाए और पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ठोस रणनीति अपनाई जाए।

The Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government is once again under political fire, as BJP State General Secretary Trilok Kapoor has accused it of preparing to privatize 14 heritage hotels of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC). He alleged that the government is using the excuse of financial crisis to sell state assets.
Kapoor questioned how the government could declare these hotels as loss-making when HPTDC’s annual revenue exceeds ₹100 crore. He reminded that earlier, the government had requested time from the High Court to revive 18 hotels, but is now attempting to sell them again.
He warned that many of these hotels are of historical and cultural importance, and selling them would be detrimental to Himachal’s tourism industry. He further alleged that the government is misleading both the public and judiciary and demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister.
Referring to HPTDC Chairman R.S. Bali’s recent statement, Kapoor said that the government has not disclosed the full decision to the cabinet and that proper management could yield revenues up to ₹200 crore.
Kapoor concluded that if the hotels are handed over to private hands, employment of hundreds of local workers would be at risk, and tourism growth will be negatively impacted. He urged the government to immediately halt the privatization plan and instead work towards a robust policy to strengthen the tourism sector.
