हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार की फसल विविधीकरण को प्रोत्साहन देने की नीति अब जमीन पर रंग ला रही है। जोगिंदरनगर उपमंडल की ग्राम पंचायत बुल्हा भड़याड़ा के समखेतर गांव में जाइका (JICA) की सहायता से 39.47 लाख रुपये की बहाव सिंचाई परियोजना के तहत वर्षों से सूखी पड़ी बंजर भूमि अब लहलहाने लगी है।
इस परियोजना के अंतर्गत भेड़े नाला से पाइपलाइन और पक्की नालियों के माध्यम से पानी खेतों तक पहुंचाया गया, जिससे 12.80 हेक्टेयर भूमि पर सिंचाई की सुविधा उपलब्ध हुई है। लगभग 70 किसान परिवारों को इस योजना से लाभ मिला है। अब किसान गेहूं, मक्की, सब्जियों के साथ-साथ अदरक और हल्दी जैसी नकदी फसलें भी उगा रहे हैं।
ग्राम प्रधान भीम सिंह और महिला किसान शीला देवी ने इस योजना को वरदान बताया है। खंड परियोजना प्रबंधक अश्वनी कुमार ने बताया कि परियोजना को समयबद्ध पूरा किया गया और किसानों को तकनीकी प्रशिक्षण व बीज भी मुफ्त दिए गए।
यह परियोजना न केवल किसानों को आत्मनिर्भर बना रही है, बल्कि युवाओं को कृषि की ओर लौटने के लिए प्रेरित कर रही है। मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू के नेतृत्व में सतत विकास और हरित क्रांति की दिशा में यह एक प्रेरणादायक पहल है।

The Himachal Pradesh government’s focus on crop diversification is bearing fruit. In Samkheter village under Bulha Bhadyara Panchayat of Jogindernagar sub-division, once barren lands are now flourishing with crops, thanks to a ₹39.47 lakh irrigation project under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The gravity-based irrigation system channels water from Bhede Nala through pipelines and concrete drains, irrigating 12.80 hectares of land and benefiting around 70 farmer families. Farmers are now growing wheat, maize, vegetables, and high-value crops like ginger and turmeric.
Local farmer Sheela Devi said her land had been uncultivable for over a decade due to lack of irrigation. Now, with water availability and free seeds, she’s harvesting again. Village head Bhim Singh stated that this project has revived agriculture and reduced migration.
Block Project Manager Ashwani Kumar highlighted the timely completion and technical support provided to farmers. This JICA-assisted initiative is a model of rural prosperity and sustainable agriculture in the state.
