धर्मशाला, 15 अगस्त 2025 — हिमाचल प्रदेश केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय में 79वां स्वतंत्रता दिवस हर्षोल्लास और देशभक्ति के साथ मनाया गया। धौलाधार परिसर-एक में कुलपति प्रो. सत प्रकाश बंसल ने ध्वजारोहण कर परेड की सलामी ली। तीनों परिसरों — देहरा, धर्मशाला और शाहपुर से विश्वविद्यालय परिवार ने इस आयोजन में भाग लिया।
कार्यक्रम में विशेष अतिथि के रूप में शाहपुर निवासी शहीद सूबेदार मेजर पवन कुमार के परिजन, पिता सेवानिवृत्त सैनिक गरज सिंह और पुत्री अनामिका उपस्थित रहे। शहीद की शहादत को नमन करते हुए परिजनों को सम्मानित किया गया। गरज सिंह ने कहा कि उन्हें गर्व है कि उनका बेटा देश के लिए बलिदान हुआ।
कुलपति ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि 15 अगस्त सिर्फ उत्सव नहीं, बल्कि आत्ममंथन का दिन है, जब हमें स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के बलिदान को याद कर भविष्य के लिए एकता, विकास और समृद्धि का संकल्प लेना चाहिए। कार्यक्रम में छात्र-छात्राओं ने कविता और बांसुरी की मधुर धुन प्रस्तुत कर देशभक्ति का माहौल बना दिया।
Dharamshala, August 15, 2025 — Himachal Pradesh Central University celebrated the 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. At Dhauladhar Campus-1, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal hoisted the national flag and took the salute at the parade. Staff and students from all three campuses — Dehra, Dharamshala, and Shahpur — participated in the event.
Special guests included the family of Shaheed Subedar Major Pawan Kumar from Shahpur — his father, retired soldier Garaj Singh, and daughter Anamika. They were honoured in recognition of the martyr’s sacrifice. Garaj Singh expressed pride that his son laid down his life for the nation.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor said that August 15 is not only a celebration but also a day for introspection — a time to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and renew our commitment to unity, development, and prosperity. Students added to the patriotic spirit with poetry recitations and soulful flute performances.
