मंडी, 22 अगस्त। जिले में मतदाताओं की सुविधा बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से 52 नए मतदान केन्द्रों के प्रस्ताव को हरी झंडी मिल गई है। अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त गुरसिमर सिंह की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित बैठक में विभिन्न राजनैतिक दलों के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया। खास बात यह रही कि किसी भी दल ने इस प्रस्ताव पर आपत्ति नहीं जताई।
वर्तमान में मंडी जिले में 1217 मतदान केन्द्र कार्यरत हैं। नए प्रस्तावों के बाद यह संख्या बढ़कर 1269 हो जाएगी। इनमें से 50 मतदान केन्द्र ऐसे होंगे जहां मतदाताओं की संख्या 1180 से अधिक है, वहीं 2 केन्द्र दूरी और भौगोलिक परिस्थितियों के कारण प्रस्तावित किए गए हैं।
नए मतदान केन्द्र बनने से विशेषकर दुर्गम क्षेत्रों, ग्रामीण इलाकों और दिव्यांगजनों के लिए मतदान और भी आसान होगा। विधानसभा करसोग में 4, सुंदरनगर में 9, नाचन में 8, सराज में 1, द्रंग में 7, जोगिंद्रनगर में 3, धर्मपुर में 5, मंडी में 1, बल्ह में 7 और सरकाघाट में 7 नए मतदान केन्द्र प्रस्तावित किए गए हैं।
प्रस्तावित केन्द्रों की अधिसूचना जारी होने के बाद सभी रजिस्टर अपडेट किए जाएंगे और बूथ स्तर अधिकारियों को समय रहते सूचना दी जाएगी।
Mandi, August 22. To make voting more convenient for citizens, 52 new polling stations have been proposed in Mandi district. The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gursimar Singh, was attended by representatives of political parties. Interestingly, no objections were raised regarding the proposal.
At present, there are 1,217 polling stations in the district. With the addition of the new proposals, the number will rise to 1,269. Among these, 50 stations are being added due to a voter count exceeding 1,180, while 2 stations are proposed considering distance and geographical conditions.
The new polling stations will especially benefit voters in remote areas, rural regions, and differently-abled citizens by reducing travel distance and ensuring better facilities.
According to the proposal, 4 polling stations will be set up in Karsog, 9 in Sundernagar, 8 in Nachan, 1 in Seraj, 7 in Drang, 3 in Jogindernagar, 5 in Dharampur, 1 in Mandi, 7 in Balh, and 7 in Sarkaghat. Once the notification is issued, registers will be updated, and booth-level officers will be informed in time.
