सोलन-राजगढ़-हरिपुरधार-रोनहाट-मीनस सड़क को राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग घोषित करने अथवा प्रधानमंत्री गति शक्ति योजना में शामिल करने की मांग उठाई है। इस संदर्भ में मंच के अध्यक्ष प्रदीप सिंह सिंगटा और महासचिव डॉ. अनिल भारद्वाज ने उद्योग मंत्री हर्षवर्धन चौहान से भेंट कर ज्ञापन सौंपा।
मंच अध्यक्ष ने बताया कि यह ऐतिहासिक सड़क 1958 से 1962 के बीच हिमाचल प्रदेश के पहले मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. यशवंत सिंह परमार के नेतृत्व में श्रमदान से बनी थी। लेकिन छह दशक बाद भी इसे उच्च मार्ग का दर्जा नहीं मिल पाया है। सड़क के संकरे और जर्जर हालात के कारण विशेषकर बरसात में दुर्घटनाओं का खतरा बढ़ा रहता है।
यह मार्ग सिरमौर जिले के तीन लाख से अधिक ग्रामीण और जनजातीय समुदाय के जीवन, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और आजीविका से सीधा जुड़ा है। साथ ही धार्मिक व पर्यटन दृष्टि से भी यह अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इसके माध्यम से हर वर्ष लाखों श्रद्धालु और पर्यटक चूड़धार, मां भंगायणी और श्री रेणुका जी जैसे प्रमुख तीर्थ स्थलों तक पहुंचते हैं।
प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने कहा कि सड़क का उन्नयन आदिवासी बहुल ट्रांस-गिरी क्षेत्र और पड़ोसी राज्य उत्तराखंड के जौनसार-बावर के आदिवासी समाज के लिए भी लाभकारी होगा।
Rajgarh, August 26. The Hati Vikas Manch has demanded that the Solan–Rajgarh–Haripurdhar–Ronhat–Meenas road be declared a National Highway or included in the PM Gati Shakti project. A delegation led by President Pradeep Singh Singta and General Secretary Dr. Anil Bhardwaj submitted a memorandum to Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, who assured to take up the issue with the central government.
Singta highlighted that this historic road was constructed between 1958 and 1962 under the leadership of Himachal Pradesh’s first Chief Minister, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, through community labor. However, even after six decades, it has not received the status of a state or national highway. Poor conditions and the narrow stretch often lead to accidents, especially during monsoons.
The road is vital for more than three lakh rural and tribal people in Sirmaur district, serving as a lifeline for livelihood, education, and healthcare. It also holds religious and tourism significance as lakhs of pilgrims and tourists use it to visit Churdhar, Maa Bhangayani, and Renuka Ji shrines every year.
Upgradation will benefit the tribal-dominated Trans-Giri region and neighboring Jaunsar-Bawar in Uttarakhand, boosting socio-economic development.â
