मंडी, 26 अगस्त। पंडोह डैम में आज से फ्लशिंग कार्य शुरू हो गया है, जो 27 अगस्त तक चलेगा। इस दौरान डैम से भारी मात्रा में जमा गाद और अतिरिक्त पानी व्यास नदी में छोड़ा जा रहा है। प्रशासन ने लोगों से सावधानी बरतने और नदी किनारे जाने से परहेज करने की अपील की है।
उपायुक्त मंडी अपूर्व देवगन ने कहा कि फ्लशिंग प्रक्रिया के दौरान पानी का स्तर अचानक बढ़ सकता है, जिससे नदी किनारे रहने वाले लोगों और पशुओं के लिए खतरा उत्पन्न हो सकता है। उन्होंने पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों और पुलिस को सतर्क रहने और लोगों को समय-समय पर जागरूक करने के निर्देश दिए।
बीबीएमबी पंडोह के अनुसार, जलाशय में गाद और कचरे की अधिकता तथा व्यास नदी में बढ़ते जलप्रवाह को देखते हुए फ्लशिंग अनिवार्य हो गई है। प्रक्रिया के दौरान पंडोह बग्गी सुरंग को बंद कर दिया गया है और पूरा पानी सीधे व्यास नदी में प्रवाहित किया जा रहा है। यह कदम सुरक्षा और जलप्रवाह संतुलन के लिए आवश्यक माना जा रहा है।
Mandi, August 26. Flushing work has started at Pandoh Dam today and will continue till August 27. During this process, a large amount of accumulated silt and excess water is being released into the Beas River. Authorities have urged people to remain alert and avoid going near the riverbanks during this period.
Deputy Commissioner Mandi, Apoorv Devgan, stated that the water level may rise suddenly during flushing, which could pose risks for people and livestock near the river. He also directed local panchayat representatives and the police to remain vigilant and keep residents informed.
According to BBMB Pandoh, the flushing became necessary due to excessive silt and waste in the reservoir, along with heavy water inflow in the Beas River. During the operation, the Pandoh-Baggi tunnel has been closed, and the entire water inflow is being diverted directly into the river. Officials emphasized that the flushing is a crucial step to maintain safety and manage river flow effectively.
