चमेरा-II पावर स्टेशन के महाप्रबंधक ने जानकारी दी है कि डैम के जलाशय की फ्लशिंग प्रक्रिया 22 जुलाई रात 11 बजे से 23 जुलाई शाम 6 बजे (अनुमानित) तक प्रस्तावित है। यह प्रक्रिया बग्गा स्थित चमेरा-II डैम में होने वाले अतिरिक्त जल प्रवाह के आधार पर की जाएगी।
फ्लशिंग के दौरान डैम के गेट खोले जाएंगे और धीरे-धीरे पानी छोड़ा जाएगा जब तक नदी में फ्री फ्लो न आ जाए, जो कि 23 जुलाई शाम 3 बजे तक किया जाएगा। इस दौरान रावी नदी के जल स्तर में अचानक वृद्धि की संभावना है।
रिहायशी इलाकों की सुरक्षा के लिए प्रशासन ने विशेष कदम उठाए हैं। स्थानीय समाचार माध्यमों और सोशल मीडिया पर प्रचार किया जा रहा है। सायरन/हूटर के जरिए लोगों को सचेत किया जाएगा। ग्राम पंचायतों को व्हाट्सऐप और एसएमएस से जानकारी दी जा रही है।
महाप्रबंधक ने निवासियों से अपील की है कि वे नदी किनारे न जाएं, सामान व मवेशियों को सुरक्षित स्थान पर रखें और सतर्कता बरतें।

The General Manager of Chamera-II Power Station has announced the scheduled flushing of the dam reservoir from 11:00 PM on July 22 to approximately 6:00 PM on July 23. This process will depend on the excess inflow at the Bagga-based Chamera-II reservoir.
During silt flushing, water will be gradually released from the dam gates until free flow in the Ravi River is achieved—expected by 3:00 PM on July 23. A sudden rise in water level downstream of the dam is anticipated.
To ensure public safety, several precautionary measures are in place. Awareness is being spread through local newspapers, electronic and social media. Sirens and hooters will alert nearby residents before water release. Panchayat heads are being informed via WhatsApp and SMS.
The General Manager has urged residents not to venture near the river, avoid placing belongings close to the banks, and keep cattle away during this period for their safety.
