धर्मशाला, 6 अगस्त 2025:
प्रदेश के कृषि एवं पशुपालन मंत्री प्रो. चन्द्र कुमार ने आज धर्मशाला स्थित भू-संरक्षण अधिकारी कार्यालय के सभागार में एक समीक्षा बैठक की। बैठक में भांग की खेती, फॉल आर्मी वर्म तथा फसलों में स्टंट रोग के विषय में चर्चा हुई। उन्होंने अधिकारियों और कृषि विशेषज्ञों को निर्देश दिए कि किसानों को कीट नियंत्रण, जैविक उपायों और पारंपरिक कृषि के लाभों की जानकारी सक्रिय रूप से दी जाए।
प्रो. कुमार ने कहा कि भांग की खेती पर पायलट अध्ययन को मंजूरी मिल चुकी है, जो इसके कानूनी, औद्योगिक व औषधीय उपयोगों की संभावना को जांचेगा। उन्होंने बताया कि 24 रोगों में भांग के पौधों से बने रसायन सहायक हो सकते हैं।
सीएसकेएचपीकेवी के वैज्ञानिक डॉ. राजन कटोच ने बताया कि एक एकड़ भांग से 10 क्विंटल फाइबर प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। कृषि विशेषज्ञों ने मक्की में फॉल आर्मी वर्म नियंत्रण हेतु जैविक उपायों और समयबद्ध बुआई पर भी सुझाव दिए।
कार्यक्रम में डॉ. राहुल कटोच ने मंत्री को टोपी व स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट किया। बैठक में कृषि विभाग व बैंकिंग क्षेत्र के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी तथा प्रगतिशील किसान उपस्थित रहे।

Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof. Chander Kumar chaired a review meeting at the Soil Conservation Office, Dharamshala. Discussions focused on cannabis cultivation, the spread of fall armyworm, and stunt disease in crops.
He directed agricultural experts to ensure timely dissemination of information on pest control, organic techniques, and traditional farming methods to farmers. He informed that a pilot study on cannabis cultivation has been approved, aimed at assessing its legal, industrial, and medicinal potential.
Dr. Rajan Katoch from CSKHPKV informed that 10 quintals of fiber can be extracted from one acre of cannabis, useful in textiles and handicrafts. Experts advised that early sowing and organic neem-based pesticides can help control fall armyworm in maize.
During the event, Joint Director Dr. Rahul Katoch honored the minister with a Himachali cap and souvenir. Senior officials from the agriculture department, banking institutions, and progressive farmers attended the session.
