उपायुक्त मंडी के आह्वान पर ग्रामीण विकास एवं पंचायती राज विभाग मंडी के अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने मानवीय संवेदना का परिचय देते हुए 1.56 लाख रुपये की सहायता राशि ग्राम रोजगार सेवक स्वर्गीय जीत राम की पत्नी शारदा देवी को सौंपी। चेक जिला विकास अधिकारी (ग्रामीण) गोपी चंद पाठक ने प्रदान किया।
गौरतलब है कि विकास खंड करसोग में कार्यरत जीत राम की आकस्मिक मृत्यु 30 जून को आई भीषण आपदा में बह जाने से हुई थी। उनकी आर्थिक स्थिति को देखते हुए उपायुक्त ने सहयोग का आग्रह किया था, जिस पर सभी खंड विकास कार्यालयों और पंचायती राज विभाग के कर्मचारियों ने स्वेच्छा से राशि एकत्रित की। इसमें स्वयं उपायुक्त और अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त का भी योगदान शामिल रहा।
इससे पहले, करसोग ब्लॉक स्टाफ ने 1.07 लाख रुपये की सहायता दी थी। सरकार की ओर से 4 लाख रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि भी परिवार को मिल चुकी है। गोपी चंद पाठक ने कहा कि मनरेगा योजना के अंतर्गत अस्थायी कर्मचारियों के लिए मृत्यु की स्थिति में कोई लाभ योजना नहीं है, इसलिए यह सहयोग महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने आश्वासन दिया कि परिवार की आगे भी मदद की जाएगी।
Compassion in Disaster: Help for Gram Rojgar Sevak’s Family

On the appeal of the Deputy Commissioner, officials and employees of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department in Mandi extended heartfelt support by contributing ₹1.56 lakh to Sharda Devi, wife of late Gram Rojgar Sevak Jeet Ram. The cheque was handed over by District Development Officer (Rural) Gopi Chand Pathak.
Jeet Ram, posted in Karsog block, tragically lost his life after being swept away in the devastating disaster of June 30. Considering his weak financial condition, the Deputy Commissioner appealed for assistance, which saw contributions from all block offices, department staff, and even the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner.
Earlier, the Karsog Block staff had given ₹1.07 lakh to the bereaved family. The state government had also provided ₹4 lakh as ex-gratia relief. Pathak stated that as MGNREGA employees are temporary, there is no formal death benefit scheme, making this collective support significant. He assured continued assistance to the family.
