शाहपुर उपमंडल के खरीड़ी गांव में लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश ने ग्रामीणों की जिंदगी को मुश्किल बना दिया है। यहां तीन मकान और एक दुकान क्षतिग्रस्त हो गए, जबकि लगभग 50 कनाल कृषि भूमि मलबे और पानी की चपेट में आ चुकी है। प्रभावित परिवारों का कहना है कि वे अब खुले आसमान के नीचे रहने को मजबूर हैं और हर पल खतरे का डर सता रहा है।
ग्रामीणों ने इस आपदा के लिए लोक निर्माण विभाग की लापरवाही को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है। उनका आरोप है कि बरसात के मौसम में किए गए “अवैज्ञानिक निर्माण कार्य” ने हालात बिगाड़ दिए। डंगे (प्रोटेक्शन वॉल) का निर्माण वर्षों से लंबित था, लेकिन ठेकेदारों ने स्वार्थवश बरसात में ही काम शुरू किया, जिससे न केवल निर्माणाधीन स्थल कमजोर हुआ बल्कि आसपास की बस्तियां भी खतरे में आ गईं।
सबसे बड़ी चिंता की बात यह है कि घटना के तीन दिन बाद भी कोई प्रशासनिक अधिकारी या जनप्रतिनिधि मौके पर नहीं पहुंचा। ग्रामीणों ने आरोप लगाया कि जब उन्होंने अस्थायी राहत सामग्री, जैसे तिरपाल की मांग की, तो स्थानीय प्रधान ने सहायता देने से मना कर दिया।
मौसम विभाग ने पहले ही क्षेत्र के लिए ऑरेंज अलर्ट घोषित किया है। लगातार वर्षा के बीच ग्रामीणों ने प्रशासन से तुरंत राहत और पुनर्वास की गुहार लगाई है, साथ ही दोषी अधिकारियों और ठेकेदारों पर कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की है।
In Kharidi village under Shahpur subdivision, continuous heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc, damaging three residential houses and one shop. Around 50 kanals of agricultural land belonging to villagers has been buried under debris and floodwater. Affected families are now forced to live under the open sky, fearing further destruction.
Locals have accused the Public Works Department of negligence, blaming unscientific and careless construction work carried out during the monsoon season. They claim that despite a pending demand for a protection wall for nearly 50 years, contractors began construction during heavy rains, weakening the site and putting nearby houses at risk.
What worries villagers most is the absence of any administrative officer or local representative at the spot, even after three days. Villagers allege that when they requested temporary relief such as tarpaulin sheets, the local head refused to provide assistance.
With the Meteorological Department issuing an Orange Alert for the region, villagers have urged the administration to provide immediate relief, safe rehabilitation, and strict action against negligent contractors and officials.
