त्योहारों से पहले एमेज़ॉन इंडिया ने अपने प्रोजेक्ट आश्रय का विस्तार करने के लिए हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (एचपीसीएल) के साथ रणनीतिक गठबंधन किया है। इस साझेदारी के तहत देशभर में 40 नए आश्रय केंद्र स्थापित किए जाएंगे। दिल्ली के रोहिणी क्षेत्र में पहले आश्रय केंद्र का उद्घाटन दिल्ली नॉर्थ-वेस्ट संसदीय क्षेत्र के सांसद श्री योगेंद्र चंडोलिया द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर पर एचपीसीएल के एग्जिक्यूटिव डायरेक्टर (नॉन-फ्यूल बिज़नेस) श्री मुरलीकृष्ण वी. वद्रेवु, एमेज़ॉन इंडिया ऑपरेशंस डायरेक्टर श्री सलीम मेमन और एमेज़ॉन यू.एस. के वाइस प्रेसिडेंट एशले डे ला टोरे भी उपस्थित रहे।
आश्रय केंद्रों का उद्देश्य डिलीवरी पार्टनर्स को सुरक्षित और सुविधाजनक विश्राम स्थल उपलब्ध कराना है। इन केंद्रों पर एयरकंडीशंड सीटिंग, पीने योग्य स्वच्छ जल, मोबाइल चार्जिंग प्वाइंट, फर्स्ट एड किट और वॉशरूम जैसी सुविधाएं निशुल्क प्रदान की जाती हैं। एमेज़ॉन ने बताया कि तीसरी तिमाही में इन केंद्रों के उपयोग में 70% वृद्धि दर्ज की गई है।
वर्तमान में एमेज़ॉन के 13 शहरों में 65 आश्रय केंद्र सक्रिय हैं, जिनमें से 24 केंद्र दिल्ली-एनसीआर में स्थित हैं। कंपनी का लक्ष्य है कि 2025 के अंत तक इनकी संख्या 100 तक पहुँचे।
एमेज़ॉन इंडिया के डायरेक्टर सलीम मेमन ने कहा कि यह पहल न केवल डिलीवरी पार्टनर्स के दैनिक जीवन को सरल बनाएगी, बल्कि उन्हें व्यस्त ट्रैफिक और खराब मौसम से निपटने में भी मदद करेगी।

Ahead of the festive season, Amazon India has expanded its Project Aashray initiative by partnering with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Under this collaboration, 40 new shelter centers will be launched across India. The first center under this expansion was inaugurated in Rohini, Delhi, by Member of Parliament Shri Yogendra Chandolia. The event was graced by Mr. Muralikrishna V. Vadrevu, Executive Director (Non-Fuel Business) HPCL; Mr. Salim Memon, Director, Amazon Operations India; and Mr. Ashley De La Torre, VP, Amazon U.S. Transportation, Sustainability & Kuiper Public Policy.
These shelters are designed to provide delivery partners with safe and comfortable resting facilities. Amenities include air-conditioned seating, clean drinking water, mobile charging stations, first-aid kits, and hygienic restrooms – all free of cost. Amazon revealed that usage of these shelters has increased by 70% in Q3 of 2024.
Currently, Amazon operates 65 shelters across 13 cities, with 24 in the Delhi-NCR region. By the end of 2025, the company aims to scale this network to 100 centers, strengthening support for frontline delivery associates.
