नई दिल्ली, 13 सितम्बर – सी.पी. राधाकृष्णन ने आज भारत के पंद्रहवें उपराष्ट्रपति और राज्यसभा के सभापति के रूप में शपथ ली। राष्ट्रपति भवन में आयोजित शपथ ग्रहण समारोह में राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मु ने उन्हें पद एवं गोपनीयता की शपथ दिलाई। इससे पहले वे महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल रह चुके हैं।
शपथ ग्रहण के बाद उपराष्ट्रपति राधाकृष्णन ने राजघाट जाकर महात्मा गांधी को श्रद्धांजलि दी। उन्होंने सदैव अटल जाकर पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी, दीनदयाल उपाध्याय मार्ग पर पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय और किसान घाट पर पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री चौधरी चरण सिंह को भी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
1957 में तमिलनाडु के तिरुपुर में जन्मे राधाकृष्णन ने राजनीति में लंबा अनुभव अर्जित किया है। वे दो बार कोयंबटूर से सांसद रहे और संसदीय समितियों में महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारियां निभाईं। भाजपा संगठन में रहते हुए उन्होंने कई यात्राओं का नेतृत्व किया और जनहित के मुद्दों को उठाया।
राधाकृष्णन को शिक्षा, जनजातीय कल्याण और उद्योगों के क्षेत्र में उनके योगदान के लिए जाना जाता है। उनके उपराष्ट्रपति बनने से राज्यसभा के कार्य संचालन में नई ऊर्जा और दृष्टि मिलने की उम्मीद जताई जा रही है।
New Delhi, September 13 – C.P. Radhakrishnan was sworn in today as the 15th Vice President of India and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. The oath-taking ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office. Prior to this, he served as the Governor of Maharashtra.
After the swearing-in, Vice President Radhakrishnan visited Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at ‘Sadaiv Atal’, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at his memorial, and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh at Kisan Ghat.
Born in 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Radhakrishnan has had an extensive political career. He represented Coimbatore twice in the Lok Sabha and held important responsibilities in various parliamentary committees. As a BJP leader, he led statewide yatras highlighting issues like national integration, terrorism eradication, and social justice.
Known for his initiatives in education, tribal welfare, and industry, Radhakrishnan’s elevation as Vice President is expected to bring renewed vision and leadership to the functioning of the Rajya Sabha.
