नई दिल्ली/शाहपुर। हिमाचल प्रदेश विधानसभा के उप मुख्य सचेतक केवल सिंह पठानिया ने गुरुवार को केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह से मुलाक़ात की और शाहपुर क्षेत्र के सैन्य व सामाजिक मुद्दों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की।
उन्होंने विशेष रूप से शहीद सूबेदार पवन सिंह जरियाल के बलिदान को याद करते हुए शाहपुर में युद्ध स्मारक बनाने की मांग रखी। पठानिया ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार पहले ही भूमि उपलब्ध करा चुकी है और रक्षा मंत्रालय की स्वीकृति मिलते ही निर्माण कार्य शुरू किया जा सकता है।
साथ ही, उन्होंने शाहपुर की ईसीएचएस पॉलीक्लिनिक के लिए नई सुविधा की मांग उठाई, जहाँ वर्तमान में सीमित जगह के कारण पूर्व सैनिकों को समस्याएँ हो रही हैं। इस हेतु 2400 हेक्टेयर भूमि रक्षा मंत्रालय को हस्तांतरित की जा चुकी है।
इसके अलावा, कस्बे के बीच स्थित 5.91 एकड़ भूमि के स्वामित्व विवाद के समाधान की भी मांग की गई, ताकि यह भूमि स्थानीय शिक्षा और जनहित कार्यों के लिए उपयोगी हो सके।
रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने आश्वासन दिया कि हिमाचल प्रदेश से जुड़ी इन सभी मांगों पर गंभीरता से विचार किया जाएगा।
New Delhi/Shahpur. Deputy Chief Whip of Himachal Pradesh Assembly, Kewal Singh Pathania, met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday and discussed crucial issues related to Shahpur constituency and ex-servicemen welfare.
He highlighted the supreme sacrifice of Subedar Pawan Singh Jaryal, the first martyr from Shahpur who laid down his life during Operation Sindoor, and urged the ministry to approve the construction of a War Memorial in his honor. Pathania mentioned that the state government has already identified and allotted the required land, awaiting only the ministry’s approval.
He also raised the issue of the ECHS Polyclinic in Shahpur, which is currently functioning with limited space. For better facilities, 2400 hectares of land has already been transferred to the Defence Ministry for developing a Type-C Polyclinic, CSD Canteen, and Sainik Rest House.
Pathania further requested early resolution of ownership disputes over 5.91 acres of centrally owned land in Shahpur town, which could benefit local schools and community projects.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured that all legitimate demands of Himachal Pradesh will be considered sympathetically and necessary approvals will be expedited.
