हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्य अर्ध सैनिक समन्वय एवं कल्याण संघ की ओर से अर्ध सैनिक बलों के लिए अलग कल्याण बोर्ड के गठन की मांग को लेकर उपमुख्य सचेतक केवल सिंह पठानिया ने मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खु से भेंट कर इस विषय पर विस्तार से चर्चा की। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री को मांग पत्र सौंपते हुए कहा कि जैसे सेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना के लिए सैनिक कल्याण बोर्ड कार्यरत है, वैसे ही अर्ध सैनिक बलों को भी इसी प्रकार की सुविधाएं और अधिकार मिलने चाहिए।
पठानिया ने बताया कि देश की सुरक्षा में अर्ध सैनिक बलों की भूमिका भी उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण है जितनी नियमित सेना की। CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, Assam Rifles जैसे बलों में कार्यरत सेवानिवृत्त और वर्तमान कार्मिकों की संख्या लगभग 11 लाख है। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य में अर्ध सैनिक कल्याण बोर्ड का गठन सशस्त्र बल अधिनियम के तहत होना चाहिए।
मुख्यमंत्री ने इस पर सहानुभूतिपूर्वक विचार करते हुए उपयुक्त कदम उठाने का आश्वासन दिया। अर्ध सैनिक समन्वय समिति ने इस सकारात्मक रुख के लिए मुख्यमंत्री और उपमुख्य सचेतक का आभार व्यक्त किया और आग्रह किया कि प्रक्रिया को शीघ्र अमल में लाया जाए।

In a significant move, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and submitted a memorandum on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh State Ex-Paramilitary Coordination and Welfare Committee, demanding the establishment of a Paramilitary Welfare Board in the state.
Pathania highlighted that while the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel are supported by a Welfare Board, ex-paramilitary personnel from CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, and Assam Rifles remain excluded from such support systems. He stated that paramilitary forces play an equally vital role in national security and deserve similar recognition and welfare schemes.
With nearly 11 lakh active and retired paramilitary personnel in the state, the establishment of this board is both necessary and justified. CM Sukhu responded positively and assured necessary steps will be initiated.
The coordination committee expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister and Pathania for acknowledging the issue and taking prompt action in this regard.
