प्राकृतिक आपदा के बाद मंडी जिले के सराज व आसपास के क्षेत्रों में राज्य आपदा मोचन बल (एसडीआरएफ) ने राहत और पुनर्वास कार्यों में उल्लेखनीय योगदान दिया है। बीती 30 जून की रात आई आपदा के तुरंत बाद एसडीआरएफ की टीम पंडोह से थुनाग होते हुए प्रभावित इलाकों में पहुंची और अग्रिम राहत कार्य शुरू किया।
1 जुलाई को एसडीआरएफ की टीम ने बगस्याड पहुंचने में सफलता पाई और रास्ते में गिरे पेड़ों को हटाकर आगे बढ़ी। इसके अगले दिन टीम पैदल थुनाग पहुंची और जिला प्रशासन को सैटेलाइट फोन के माध्यम से नुकसान की जानकारी दी। इसके बाद टीम ने जंजैहली, नेहरी-सुनाह, थुंडी, रोड गांव, रूशाड़ और थाच जैसे दुर्गम क्षेत्रों में राहत पहुंचाई।
टीम ने बाढ़ व भूस्खलन में फंसे लोगों की तलाश, दवाइयों की आपूर्ति, और गर्भवती महिलाओं को सुरक्षित स्थानों तक पहुंचाने जैसे सराहनीय कार्य किए। ड्रोन तकनीक की मदद से लेह नकतेरा, भगैड़ा, घयारधार, थाच और जांशल गांवों में राशन व मेडिकल किट पहुंचाई गई।
एसडीआरएफ के जवानों ने जंजैहली में फंसे 63 पर्यटकों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकालने में भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। पंडोह डैम से पटीकरी तक लापता लोगों की खोज व ड्रोन से आपूर्ति कार्य में उनकी सेवा सतत जारी रही। एसडीआरएफ की तत्परता और समर्पण आपदा प्रबंधन में अत्यंत प्रेरणादायक रहा।

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has played a crucial role in relief and rehabilitation efforts following the natural disaster that struck Mandi’s Seraj region and surrounding areas on the night of June 30.
Soon after the disaster, SDRF teams were among the first to reach Thunag via Pandoh. On July 1, they cleared fallen trees en route to Bagsiad and reached Thunag the next day on foot, where they updated the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) using a satellite phone.
From July 3 onward, SDRF extended its operations to Janjehli, Nehri Sunah, Thundi, and other affected villages, delivering rations, medicines, and first aid kits. Using cargo drones, they successfully transported 15 kg relief kits to remote villages like Bayala, Leh Naktera, and Bhagaira.
They also rescued 63 stranded tourists in Janjehli and safely transported pregnant women to Mandi. Search operations are still ongoing from Pandoh Dam to Patikri, highlighting SDRF’s continued commitment.
