मंडी, 13 अगस्त। उपमंडल गोहर में ब्लॉक परियोजना प्रबंधन इकाई (बीपीएमयू) ने जापान इंटरनेशनल कोऑपरेशन एजेंसी (जाइका) के सहयोग से आठ सिंचाई परियोजना स्थलों पर किसानों को उच्च गुणवत्ता वाले ऑफ सीजन मटर और गोभी के बीज वितरित किए। इनमें एफआईएस सुरथी-थाची, गद्दीमन-मझोठी, देओली-देलग टिक्करी, बरजोहडू-कोट, सन्दोआ, खरखन खड्ड-लेहोटी, नोगी खड्ड-काण्डलू और काण्डलू-बिठरी शामिल हैं। इस अवसर पर लगभग 125 किसानों को बीज प्रदान किए गए।
ऑफ सीजन बीज ऐसी किस्में होती हैं जो मौसम और तापमान में बदलाव के बावजूद बेहतर उपज देती हैं। इनसे किसान गर्मी और बरसात में भी फसल उत्पादन कर सकते हैं, जिससे उन्हें अतिरिक्त आमदनी और बेहतर बाज़ार मूल्य मिलता है। बीपीएमयू टीम ने किसानों को लाइन बुआई, स्टेकिंग तकनीक, समय-समय पर फसल की निगरानी, कीट व रोग नियंत्रण और जल प्रबंधन के सुझाव दिए। किसानों ने इस पहल को टिकाऊ और आधुनिक खेती की दिशा में अहम कदम बताया।
Mandi, August 13 – In Gohar sub-division, the Block Project Management Unit (BPMU), with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), distributed high-quality off-season pea and cabbage seeds to farmers at eight irrigation project sites. These included FIS Surthi-Thachi, Gaddiman-Mazhothi, Deoli-Delag Tikkari, Barjohdu-Kot, Sandoa, Kharkhan Khad-Lehoti, Nogi Khad-Kandlu, and Kandlu-Bithri. Around 125 farmers received seeds during this event.
Off-season seeds are specially developed varieties that can withstand seasonal and temperature variations, enabling farmers to grow crops outside their usual harvest period. This helps them earn higher market prices and additional income. The BPMU team also guided farmers on line sowing, staking methods, timely crop monitoring, pest and disease control, and effective water management to improve yield by 20–30%. Farmers expressed gratitude to JICA and BPMU, stating that such initiatives are crucial for promoting sustainable and modern agriculture in the region.
