हिमाचल प्रदेश के कृषि एवं पशुपालन मंत्री प्रोफेसर चंद्र कुमार ने रविवार को शिलारू में नव-निर्मित कृषि उपज मंडी का विधिवत रूप से उद्घाटन किया। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी उत्पाद को बेहतर दाम तभी मिलते हैं जब उसकी सही मार्केटिंग की जाए। उन्होंने बागवानों से अपील की कि वे सेब के साथ सब्जियां भी इस मंडी में लाएं ताकि उन्हें उनके उचित दाम मिल सकें।
उन्होंने बताया कि इस मंडी का 18 जून 2025 को मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू द्वारा ऑनलाइन उद्घाटन किया गया था, और अब इसे विधिवत शुरू किया गया है। इस मंडी में 28 दुकानें, कार्यालय, पार्किंग और अन्य सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करवाई गई हैं। भविष्य में इसे ऑनलाइन प्लेटफॉर्म से भी जोड़ा जाएगा।
एपीएमसी के माध्यम से किसानों को सीधा बाजार उपलब्ध होगा, जिससे वे बिचौलियों से बच सकेंगे। इस अवसर पर मंत्री ने पौधारोपण भी किया और पर्यावरण संरक्षण का संदेश दिया।
ठियोग विधायक कुलदीप सिंह राठौर ने कहा कि यह मंडी पूर्व मंत्री विद्या स्टोक्स का सपना था, जो अब साकार हुआ है। उन्होंने मंडी को सड़क से जोड़ने, सॉइल टेस्ट लैब और ट्यूनिक गार्डन की स्थापना की मांग की।
एपीएमसी अध्यक्ष देवानंद वर्मा ने मंडी में शेड, सफाई कर्मचारी और जल व्यवस्था की सुविधा सुनिश्चित करने का आग्रह किया।

Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prof. Chander Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed Agricultural Produce Market (APMC) at Shillaru today. He emphasized the importance of proper marketing in securing the right price for agricultural products, including apples and vegetables.
The Minister informed that the market was officially inaugurated online by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on June 18, 2025, and is now formally operational. The facility includes 28 shops, an office, parking, and other basic amenities, with plans to integrate it into an online platform soon.
He added that APMC helps protect farmers from exploitation by large retailers and controls price disparities. The Minister also planted saplings, promoting environmental awareness.
Theog MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore appreciated the efforts and called it a dream fulfilled for former Minister Vidya Stokes. He demanded better road connectivity, a soil test lab, and a tunic garden for the farmers’ benefit.
APMC President Devanand Verma urged the government to construct sheds, appoint cleaning staff, and ensure water supply in the market.
