उपायुक्त अनुपम कश्यप ने जानकारी दी है कि स्वतंत्रता दिवस 2025 को शिमला जिला में व्यापक और भव्य स्तर पर मनाया जाएगा। सभी 412 ग्राम पंचायतों, शहरी व ग्रामीण निकायों और नगर निगम शिमला के सभी वार्डों में विशेष कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाएंगे ताकि हर नागरिक की सहभागिता सुनिश्चित हो।
बचत भवन में हुई बैठक में उपायुक्त ने बताया कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में स्वच्छता कार्यक्रम, पौधरोपण, तथा चिल्ड्रन ऑफ स्टेट विषय पर आधारित गतिविधियाँ होंगी। साथ ही एनसीसी, स्काउट एंड गाइड, होमगार्ड, पुलिस बैंड द्वारा मार्च पास्ट होगा। 15 अगस्त से पहले 11 अगस्त से पूर्वाभ्यास आरंभ होगा।
मुख्यातिथि समारोह में बेटी बचाओ बेटी पढ़ाओ और मुख्यमंत्री सुख आश्रय योजना के अंतर्गत गुब्बारे छोड़ने का भी कार्यक्रम होगा। इस बार सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों में अन्य राज्यों की संस्कृति पर आधारित प्रस्तुति भी शामिल की जाएगी। प्रतिभागियों को प्रशस्ति पत्र दिए जाएंगे।
सभी स्कूलों और कॉलेजों में देशभक्ति चित्रकला प्रतियोगिता और ऑनलाइन निबंध प्रतियोगिता भी आयोजित होंगी, जिनके विजेताओं को सम्मानित किया जाएगा।
बैठक में वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक संजीत गांधी, अतिरिक्त उपायुक्त अभिषेक वर्मा, एडीएम पंकज शर्मा सहित विभिन्न अधिकारियों और कॉलेजों के प्राचार्यों ने भाग लिया।

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap announced that Independence Day 2025 will be celebrated with grandeur and inclusivity across Shimla district. All 412 gram panchayats, urban and rural local bodies, and wards under Shimla Municipal Corporation will host special events to ensure maximum public participation.
In a preparatory meeting at Bachat Bhawan, the DC emphasized organizing cleanliness drives, tree plantation, and programs themed around “Children of the State” in rural areas. March pasts will include contingents from NCC, Home Guards, Scouts and Guides, and Police Band. Rehearsals for the 15th August event will begin on August 11.
Freedom fighters and gallantry awardees will be specially invited. The chief guest will also release balloons symbolizing schemes like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana.
Cultural programs will feature college students showcasing diverse Indian cultures, and performers will be awarded certificates of appreciation. Schools and colleges will also host patriotic art competitions, with the best artwork to be displayed at Gaiety Theatre. Additionally, an online essay competition will be held in two categories, and winners will be felicitated on stage.
Present at the meeting were SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi, ADC Abhishek Verma, ADM Pankaj Sharma, college principals, and heads of various departments.
