हमीरपुर जिले के अंतर्गत आने वाली नाबार्ड वित्तपोषित प्लासी-मैड भगेटू सड़क (लंबाई 2.5 किमी, लागत ₹1.85 करोड़) के निर्माण में बड़े पैमाने पर घोटाले और निर्माण में अनियमितता का आरोप सामने आया है। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि सड़क निर्माण में घटिया सामग्री का उपयोग किया गया, और करीब 100 फीट लंबे डंगे को केवल मिट्टी डालकर ढक दिया गया, जिससे भविष्य में यह जानलेवा साबित हो सकता है।
मुख्य शिकायतकर्ता रवि कुमार उर्फ मोनू ठाकुर ने बताया कि उन्होंने इस विषय पर लोक निर्माण विभाग से कई बार शिकायत की, लेकिन कोई सुनवाई नहीं हुई। उन्होंने ठेकेदार सौरभ पठानिया और उनके पिता राम चंद पठानिया पर प्रभाव और राजनीतिक दबाव बनाकर कार्य छिपाने का आरोप लगाया। ग्रामीणों ने यह भी बताया कि ₹1 लाख की रिश्वत देकर मामला दबाने की कोशिश की गई।
प्रकाश चंद, सुरेंद्र कुमार, पवन ठाकुर, जसबीर सिंह, सुशील कुमार समेत कई ग्रामीणों ने दोषियों के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज करने, तकनीकी ऑडिट कराने, ठेकेदार को ब्लैकलिस्ट करने और विभागीय अधिकारियों पर कार्रवाई की मांग की है।
उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री ठा. सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू, उपमुख्यमंत्री मुकेश अग्निहोत्री, मंत्री विक्रमादित्य सिंह और केंद्रीय मंत्री नितिन गडकरी से इस मुद्दे में संज्ञान लेने की अपील की है।
ग्रामीणों ने चेतावनी दी है कि यदि शीघ्र कार्रवाई नहीं हुई, तो वे मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय के बाहर धरना प्रदर्शन करेंगे।

Allegations of massive corruption and irregularities have surfaced in the construction of the NABARD-funded Plasi-Maid Bhagetu Road (length: 2.5 km, cost ₹1.85 crore) in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur district. Locals claim that poor-quality materials were used, and a 100-feet long retaining wall was merely covered with soil, posing a serious threat in the future.
Lead complainant Ravi Kumar alias Monu Thakur said several complaints were made to the Public Works Department, but no action was taken. He alleged that the contractor Saurabh Pathania, under the political protection of his father Ram Chand Pathania (Chairman of Kangra Agriculture Bank), managed to suppress the matter. Allegedly, ₹1 lakh bribe was also offered to bury the issue.
Villagers including Prakash Chand, Surender Kumar, Pawan Thakur, Jasbir Singh, and Sushil Kumar have demanded a formal FIR, a technical audit, blacklisting of the contractor, and action against responsible PWD officials.
The residents have appealed to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for strict action.
The villagers warned of a protest outside the CM’s office if prompt action is not taken.
