त्साराप-चू संरक्षण हेतु मुख्यमंत्री को आईबीसीए ने तीन करोड़ की सहायता राशि दी
शिमला, 27 जुलाई: इंटरनेशनल बिग कैट अलायंस (IBCA) ने नव अधिसूचित त्साराप-चू संरक्षण रिज़र्व के प्रबंधन हेतु मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंद्र सिंह सुक्खू को ₹3 करोड़ की सहायता राशि भेंट की। यह राशि संरक्षण योजना तैयार करने, प्रबंधन समिति के गठन और स्थानीय समुदायों के प्रशिक्षण में उपयोग की जाएगी।
मुख्यमंत्री ने आईबीसीए का आभार व्यक्त करते हुए इसे वन्यजीव संरक्षण में सामुदायिक भागीदारी की दिशा में एक ऐतिहासिक कदम बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि यह संरक्षण प्रयास स्थानीय लोगों को इको-टूरिज्म, फोटोग्राफी, कैंपिंग और वन्यजीव अनुसंधान के माध्यम से आजीविका के अवसर देगा।
त्साराप-चू रिज़र्व, 1585 वर्ग किमी में फैला, भारत का सबसे बड़ा संरक्षण क्षेत्र बन चुका है। यह हिम तेंदुए, तिब्बती भेड़िया, कियांग, और अर्गली जैसे दुर्लभ प्राणियों का निवास स्थान है। यह क्षेत्र किब्बर व चंद्रताल अभयारण्यों के बीच महत्वपूर्ण वन्यजीव गलियारा भी है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि स्थानीय पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों के साथ एक प्रबंधन समिति बनाई जाएगी, ताकि पारिस्थितिकी और आजीविका में संतुलन स्थापित किया जा सके।
इस अवसर पर अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव के.के. पंत और प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक (वन्यजीव) अमिताभ गौतम भी उपस्थित रहे।
IBCA Presents ₹3 Crore Grant to CM for Tsarap Chu Reserve Management
Shimla, July 27: The International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) presented a ₹3 crore cheque to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the conservation and management of the newly notified Tsarap Chu Conservation Reserve.
The CM expressed gratitude to IBCA and stated that the grant would aid in the formulation of a management plan, formation of a dedicated committee, and capacity-building of local stakeholders. He emphasized that this initiative will enhance eco-tourism, wildlife research, and livelihood opportunities for local communities.
Tsarap Chu, officially notified on May 7, 2025, is now India’s largest conservation reserve, spanning 1585 sq. km in the trans-Himalayan region of Himachal Pradesh. It serves as a critical habitat for snow leopards, Tibetan wolves, kiangs, argalis, and various high-altitude birds.
The reserve also connects Kibber and Chandratal sanctuaries, acting as a vital wildlife corridor. A community-based management committee will ensure inclusive conservation planning, with representation from local panchayats.
Additional Chief Secretary K.K. Pant and PCCF (Wildlife) Amitabh Gautam were also present during the cheque presentation ceremony.
