काँगड़ा को लेकर चल रही राजनीतिक बयानबाजी के बीच कांग्रेस के पूर्व प्रवक्ता सपन सूद ने भाजपा पर तीखे आरोप लगाए। उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा ने हमेशा काँगड़ा को राजनीतिक फुटबॉल बनाकर इस्तेमाल किया है। जबकि सच्चाई यह है कि काँगड़ा को शीतकालीन राजधानी का दर्जा और तपोवन में विधानसभा सत्र शुरू करने का श्रेय कांग्रेस सरकार को ही जाता है।
सपन सूद ने मुख्यमंत्री सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू की पर्यटन राजधानी योजना की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि 390 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजनाएं इस जिले के भविष्य को बदलेंगी। मुख्यमंत्री का पर्यटन निगम कार्यालय को काँगड़ा स्थानांतरित करने का निर्णय भी ऐतिहासिक है, जिसकी सराहना भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता और पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री शांता कुमार ने भी की है।
उन्होंने भाजपा पर आरोप लगाया कि केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय के मुद्दे पर 16 वर्षों तक लोगों को गुमराह किया गया, जबकि सुक्खू सरकार के कार्यकाल में भवन निर्माण कार्य तेजी से हो रहा है। सूद ने कहा कि भाजपा केवल घड़ियाली आंसू बहा रही है और जनता अब असली सच जान चुकी है।
Amid political debates over Kangra’s development, former Congress spokesperson Sapan Sood strongly criticized the BJP for neglecting the district. He said the BJP treated Kangra like a political football, using it only for votes. In contrast, Congress governments gave Kangra the status of winter capital and began the winter session of the Assembly at Tapovan.
Sood praised Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s vision of making Kangra the tourism capital, with projects worth ₹390 crore already in progress. He highlighted that shifting the Tourism Corporation office from Shimla to Kangra was a historic decision, even appreciated by senior BJP leader and former CM Shanta Kumar.
Accusing BJP of misleading people on the Central University issue for 16 years, he added that the construction work gained real momentum only under the present Congress government. He concluded that the BJP is shedding crocodile tears, while the Sukhu government is delivering real development in Kangra.
