मंडी, 13 सितम्बर।
जिले के 1425 आपदा प्रभावित परिवारों के लिए राहत का सिलसिला शुरू हो गया है। एमिकेयर इंडिया, मुंबई के सहयोग और हिमाचल ज्ञान विज्ञान एवं तकनीकि विकास समिति के समन्वय से 13 से 23 सितम्बर तक प्रभावित परिवारों को तरपाल, पारिवारिक किट, स्वास्थ्य व स्वच्छता सामग्री तथा पीने के पानी हेतु किट वितरित की जा रही हैं।
कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत सिराज ब्लॉक के कुथाह से की गई। एमिकेयर इंडिया के समन्वयक अभिजीत चटर्जी ने कहा कि इस बार की भीषण बारिश ने पूरे प्रदेश को संकट में डाल दिया है, इसलिए संस्था मानवता के नाते सहयोग कर रही है।
समिति के कोषाध्यक्ष भीम सिंह ठाकुर ने बताया कि संगठन पिछले 40 वर्षों से शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, महिला सशक्तिकरण, पर्यावरण और सामाजिक सुरक्षा जैसे क्षेत्रों में कार्यरत है। आपदा राहत कार्यों में भी समिति हमेशा आगे रही है।
समिति के उपाध्यक्ष डॉ. किशोर खोसला ने कहा कि जलवायु परिवर्तन और भारी वर्षा ने प्रदेश के हजारों मकानों, गौशालाओं और खेतों को तबाह कर दिया है। ऐसे कठिन समय में समिति हर प्रभावित परिवार के साथ खड़ी है और पुनर्निर्माण में कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर सहयोग करेगी।
इस अवसर पर समिति के पूर्व अध्यक्ष जोगिन्दर वालिया, डी.आर. ठाकुर, बालम राम, सिराज ब्लॉक अध्यक्ष श्रीमती खेमदासी, सचिव खुबे राम सहित कई पंचायतों के स्वयंसेवी मौजूद रहे।

Relief work has begun for 1,425 disaster-affected families in Mandi district. With the support of Amicare India, Mumbai, and coordination of the Himachal Gyan Vigyan & Technical Development Committee, families from Siraj, Karsog, Churag, Nihri, Gohar, Bali Chowki, Sadar, Jogindernagar, Gopalpur, and Dharampur blocks are being provided tarpaulins, family kits, health and sanitation essentials, and clean drinking water kits from September 13 to 23.
The program was inaugurated at Kuthah (Siraj Block). Amicare India coordinator Abhijit Chatterjee said the devastating rains have caused unprecedented hardships across Himachal, and this initiative is a small step to support affected families.
Committee treasurer Bhim Singh Thakur highlighted that the organization has been working for over 40 years in education, health, women empowerment, environment, and social security. Relief and rehabilitation remain its key priorities.
Vice President Dr. Kishore Khosla noted that climate change and heavy rainfall have led to massive destruction of homes, cowsheds, farmlands, and roads, leaving thousands displaced. He assured that the committee stands firmly with the people in their journey of recovery.
The event was attended by former president Joginder Walia, D.R. Thakur, Balam Ram, Siraj Block president Mrs. Khem Dasi, secretary Khube Ram, and several volunteers from nearby panchayats.
